Interview Questions You Can Ask – Generic and Specific

By Ford R. Myers,
President of Career Potential, LLC

A few years ago, I wrote an article about questions that job candidates can ask interviewers. The piece received very positive response, so I decided to update it and share a new tip to make your interviews even more successful.

The most important interview questions might be the ones YOU ask. It’s very important for you to ask questions of the interviewer and to take notes throughout the meeting (which will help you to formulate your questions). When an interviewer asks, “So, do you have any questions for me?”, the worst thing you could possibly say is “Nope.” In some cases, you’ll be judged more on the questions you’re asking than the answers you’re giving!

After all, you’re hoping to work for the individual who is interviewing you, so you must try to find out as much as you can about how he or she works, thinks and communicates. Additionally, asking smart questions will help you sound like an articulate, savvy business professional. You’ll seem well-prepared and genuinely interested in working for the organization.

You’re Invited – Two Career Success Seminars – Sept. 2016

Event #1 – Wednesday, September 7, 2016

Topic: Salary Negotiation: The Rules of the Game

Time: 6:00pm to 8:45pm
Location: Berwyn Fire Company, Berwyn, PA
Investment: Free!

Why is it that people have such a difficult time successfully negotiating their compensation? The reason we can’t or won’t negotiate is not because we’re incapable of doing so, but rather because we just don’t know how! No one ever taught us “the rules of the game!” For the purposes of this presentation, we look at negotiation as a game. And as with any game, we can’t win if we don’t know the rules.

This is a very practical, “real world” seminar that has always been one of our most popular programs! Invest a few hours in this event, and make a “quantum leap” in your salary. Join us to master the rules of the salary negotiation game – a game that can actually be fun, as well as financially rewarding!

What Clients Are Saying About Career Potential

I met Ford Myers many times at seminars and networking events, and was skeptical of making an investment in career coaching. But my job search was inconsistent and frustrating, so I retained Ford to help me through a structured and organized career transition. He gave me the tools I needed to be well-prepared and confident in my search. Without Ford’s guidance and expertise, I would not have been able to develop the materials and mindset necessary to achieve my career goals.
